Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (3x12 or 4x12) | 18:45–07:15 | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for a Medical Surgical unit with patient diagnoses including orthopedic trauma, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, subdural hematoma, and neurological trauma
• Manage heparin drips, PCA, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line care
• Perform colostomy care, feeding tube care and management, wound care, surgical drain management, and chest tube management (Emerson/Pleuravac)
• Manage tracheostomy, oral suctioning, non-invasive airway management, and O2 protocol; apply isolation precautions and PPE as required
• Document accurately using Epic; utilize Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• Float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed; may be assigned to Storm Team or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or mass casualty incidents

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience within the last 5 years
• Proficiency with Epic electronic documentation
• Must be comfortable with patient ratios of 1:5–6
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Local candidates are welcome; candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at a adjusted local rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and management of drips
• Experience with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, or spinal cord injuries
