Key Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments, intervene appropriately and promptly, and participate in care planning for emergency room patients
- Triage patients, obtain patient history and vital signs, and assess patients across acuity levels
- Act independently to initiate immediate care in the absence of a physician in life-threatening situations
- Process physician and provider orders accurately, completely, and in a timely manner, including follow-up on medication changes and order clarifications
- Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with team members to facilitate changes that improve patient care
- Answer ambulance radios and provide appropriate orders for pre-hospital care; operate sophisticated equipment in a frequently stressful environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN License (verified Active status via LARA and/or Nursys required)
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification required
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room (ER) experience required
- Current Skills Checklist pertinent to Emergency Room specialty (within the last year) required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
