Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for emergency patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
- Complete required facility modules during orientation as assigned
- In the event of an emergency or disaster, report as assigned by unit management, which may include remaining at the facility until the event passes or serving as part of a relief team
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license — Compact or Louisiana state license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Room nursing
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and CPI (CPI must be obtained prior to start if not already held)
- AHA certifications required
- Up-to-date NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission date)
- Must live more than 65 miles from the facility (as measured from address on driver's license to facility address) — local travelers are not accepted
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have been separated for a minimum of 1 full year before being eligible to return as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in high-acuity or Level I/II trauma emergency environments
- Familiarity with facility-based onboarding and module completion processes
- Strong communication and adaptability skills in high-pressure situations
