Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3 days per week with every other weekend | Projected Start: September 14, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio across a 27-bed floor
• Care for post-operative patients, with an emphasis on orthopedic post-op populations
• Perform and manage blood transfusions, IV therapy, and central line maintenance
• Utilize Meditech Expanse for clinical documentation and Computer on Wheels (COW) and Pyxis at the bedside
• Float between two Medical Surgical units (MS2 and MS3) as needed per staffing requirements
• Collaborate with unit secretaries and patient care technicians available across all shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Experience with post-operative patients, particularly orthopedic surgery patients
• BLS certification required
• Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and every other weekend

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification (preferred but not required)
• Prior experience with Meditech Expanse documentation system
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems and Welch Allyn vital sign equipment
