Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed adult acute care hematology/oncology unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Support patients on a 15-bed intermediate care Stem Cell Transplant Unit (SCTU) as needed
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments in accordance with unit protocols
- Float within scope of practice per facility float policy as needed
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive oncology and hematology care
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required — must be attached at time of submittal or verifiably in progress prior to start date
- BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- BSN preferred
- Prior experience in hematology/oncology or stem cell transplant settings
- Completion of ONS Fundamentals course (may be required based on experience level at manager's discretion)
