Registered Nurse – ICU Float Pool

Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Float across various ICU and intermediate care units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit, Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate Unit, Surgical Trauma Intermediate Unit, and Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Unit
• Provide care for ED boarders — patients admitted to the hospital but awaiting room assignment while boarding in the ED
• Adhere to facility float pool policy, floating within scope of practice as needed across assigned units
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
• Work 2 out of 3 winter holidays; required holiday coverage includes Thanksgiving, Black Friday, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Experience working across multiple ICU or intermediate care settings
• Prior travel nursing experience with demonstrated adaptability to float assignments
