Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
• Perform hand therapy services including splint fabrication across a full hand caseload in an outpatient setting
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
• Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs as assigned with appropriate supervision and evaluation
• Adhere to discipline-specific state practice acts and regulatory agency requirements while maintaining professional licensure in good standing

Required Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist licensure in the state of Florida in good standing
• Demonstrated hand therapy experience, including proficiency in splint fabrication and management of a full hand caseload
• Strong clinical reasoning skills with the ability to develop appropriate treatment plans and functional goals
• Ability to complete thorough, compliant documentation in accordance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Background in outpatient orthopedic therapy
• Experience supervising or mentoring therapy students
• Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality initiatives in a clinical setting
