Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems
• Perform patient assessments incorporating physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs, and synthesize data to determine priorities of care
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop, update, and communicate the plan of care
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care
• Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, or high-risk discharge planning needs
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience in a progressive care, intermediate care, or stepdown unit setting
