Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (1830–0700) | Self-Scheduling | Every Third Weekend Required (Friday & Saturday)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg/Orthopedic unit serving a diverse patient population including total joint replacements, COPD, diabetes, oncology, sepsis, CHF, and behavioral health needs
• Administer and manage set-rate drips including heparin, IV antibiotics, antithrombotics, and narcotics (titration not required)
• Participate in hourly rounding and conduct bedside shift reports
• Float to PCU and behavioral health unit as needed — candidates must be flexible and self-directed
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5, collaborating with nurse aides and patient care techs (1:10 ratio)
• Complete a mandatory unit orientation including classroom training and one 12-hour shift on the unit; must pass an open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90%

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Must not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required as a condition of contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in Med Surg or Orthopedic nursing
• Comfort working with patients who have mental health, addiction, or complex social histories
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and familiarity with bedside monitor systems
• Adaptable, self-directed, and eager to work in a dynamic learning environment
