Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every 3rd weekend required | Holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, including specialized care for patients with rehabilitation needs such as CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility
- Perform clinical skills including vital signs, dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure setup, phlebotomy, capillary blood draws, and specimen labeling and collection (throat, urine UA clean catch)
- Conduct medication reconciliation, interpretation of laboratory results, and patient health history and allergy documentation
- Handle telephone triage and pharmacy calls including patient refill requests
- Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:6, with rotating assignments that may include up to 7 patients of equivalent acuity
- Float to other campuses within the health system as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience — first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
- Current driver's license required to verify address
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- No open background check cases permitted; third-party education verification required
- Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application — no post-submission RTO will be accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Acute Care Rehabilitation experience strongly preferred
- Experience caring for post-stroke, post-aneurysm, or post-operative surgical rehabilitation patients
- Familiarity with inpatient rehab department workflows and specialized rehabilitation patient populations
