Registered Nurse – ICU (Cardiac)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to cardiac and medical intensive care patients, including some step-down overflow
  • Manage and monitor advanced cardiac devices including LVAD, Impella, IABP, and Temporary Ventricular Pacing (TVP)
  • Operate and monitor ventilators, CRRT, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
  • Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Provide pre- and post-cardiac catheterization/intervention care, including sheath removal
  • Care for post-cardiac surgery patients (not directly from the OR) at a 2:1 patient ratio

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Cardiac ICU setting (CVICU, CCU, or strong Cardiopulmonary ICU strongly required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible at full rate; candidates residing 50–99.9 miles away may be considered at a reduced rate; candidates under 50 miles are not eligible for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Impella and IABP management
  • Experience with CRRT and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
  • Background in CVICU or dedicated cardiac surgery step-down environments
