Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a highly specialized 20-bed Cardiac ICU unit serving patients undergoing open heart, vascular, and thoracic surgeries
- Operate and monitor advanced specialty equipment including intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, CRRT, and epicardial pacemakers
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for critically ill cardiac patients
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
- Adhere to holiday scheduling expectations, including coverage for 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU or Cardiac ICU experience
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- CCRN certification preferred
- Experience with advanced cardiac devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella, and CRRT
- Background in caring for post-surgical open heart, vascular, or thoracic patients
