Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions in an outpatient surgery center setting
Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, airway, and neurological status during the immediate post-operative recovery phase
Administer medications and interventions as ordered, responding promptly to changes in patient condition
Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe patient transitions
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
Adhere to holiday coverage expectations, including working 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)

Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or compact eligibility
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in PACU or post-anesthesia nursing
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

Experience in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery center environment
Familiarity with a high-volume, fast-paced surgical recovery setting
Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills in the post-operative phase
