Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within the Interventional Radiology department, including continuous monitoring of patient condition, vital signs, and intravenous lines
- Administer medications and first aid under the direction of a physician, and assist with patient comfort throughout procedures
- Assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures performed in the IR suite, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, and Diagnostic areas in a 1:1 patient ratio environment
- Maintain emergency equipment and supplies, including crash cart drug inventory and emergency drug reaction kits, ensuring proper working order at all times
- Serve as a liaison between the Imaging department and patient care divisions, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication of any adverse changes in patient condition
- Participate in on-call rotation and float as needed within the department; flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required November 1 through April 1
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Missouri or compact state eligibility
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology nursing experience
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR (facility transitioning to Epic)
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ARNA (Association of Radiologic and Imaging Nursing) certification preferred
- Background in critical care nursing with demonstrated ability to perform well under pressure
- Experience with Nihon Kohden patient monitoring equipment
