Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs support effective return to community activities
- Participate in student clinical education programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements
- Support organizational performance improvement initiatives and contribute feedback through staff meetings, focus groups, or direct supervision channels
Required Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of Virginia
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans
- Proficiency in clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
- Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and safe patient handling practices
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
- Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students
- Active involvement in continuing education and professional development activities
