Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care across multiple ER satellite locations in the greater Phoenix area; schedule is provided in advance so staff are aware of their assigned location
- Function as one of only two RNs on staff at satellite ER locations, requiring strong independent clinical judgment
- Maintain a 4:1 patient ratio and deliver high-acuity emergency care including care for dysrhythmia and ventilator-dependent patients
- Perform lab draws and point-of-care procedures including Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath access; no IV team on site
- Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
- Complete all required first-day orientation competencies including a pass/fail SIMs Lab assessment; strict adherence to sterile field technique is essential
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Arizona
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- TNCC certification required
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (maximum of 2 attempts allowed)
- Must successfully complete a pass/fail SIMs Lab on Day 1 of orientation; demonstrated competency in sterile field technique, Foley catheter insertion, and port-a-cath access is expected
- Vent-capable experience required
- COVID vaccination declination accepted for medical or religious reasons
Preferred Experience / Skills
- CPI certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in a high-acuity emergency department setting
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR
