Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Prepares, administers, and records prescribed medications (oral, subcutaneous, and IV); reports adverse reactions in accordance with facility policy
- Provides bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients, and educates patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs
- Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment, interprets and records electronic displays, and initiates corrective action when a patient displays adverse symptomatology
- Performs clinical tasks including dressing changes, catheter insertion, and IV starts; prepares equipment and assists physician during examination and treatment
- Participates in discharge planning and documents all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
- Active Wyoming RN license or a multi-state RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience in a hospital setting
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required — must be issued through the American Heart Association
- Ability to occasionally care for pediatric and adolescent patients as needed
- Willingness to float between two campus locations depending on facility census
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a community hospital setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in acute care environments
- Experience managing a diverse patient population including pre- and post-operative cases
