Travel RN – Medical Surgical (3x12's – Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 16 Weeks | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3 shifts per week | Every 3rd weekend required | Rotating holidays | No call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed post-surgical unit serving post-operative patients from general and bariatric surgery, as well as overflow medical patients
• Maintain a 1:5 patient ratio while demonstrating strong time management and prioritization skills
• Utilize Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems for documentation and medication administration
• Manage and monitor surgical drains and post-operative patient needs
• Float to similar Med/Surg units based on rotation and census needs
• Complete assigned education modules prior to reporting to the floor on the first day

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for the state of Indiana
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Experience with surgical drains
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and patient advocacy skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a post-surgical or Med/Surg setting
• Familiarity with bariatric and general surgery patient populations
• Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced, rotating unit environment
