Key Responsibilities

Provide high-risk obstetrical bedside nursing care in a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit
Circulate in cesarean sections within the Labor & Delivery setting
Recover high-acuity postpartum patients, including those on magnesium sulfate
Perform and assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&C procedures, and post-delivery recovery care
Maintain AWHONN staffing ratios across varying patient acuity levels (e.g., 1:1 for active/unstable labor, 2:1 for cervical ripening and stable patients, 3:1 for triage)
Float to the antepartum unit within the Women's Hospital as needed

Required Qualifications

Active RN license valid in the state of Texas
Minimum 2 years of high-risk Labor & Delivery experience
Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certificate required
Experience with high-risk obstetrical care in a high-volume setting
Proficiency with GE fetal monitors and documentation systems (Meditech, CPN)
Weekend availability required

Preferred Experience / Skills

Experience recovering high-acuity postpartum patients including those on magnesium sulfate protocols
Familiarity with AWHONN staffing ratio standards and application in a clinical setting
Experience in a Women's Hospital or dedicated high-risk OB unit
Comfort floating to antepartum care settings
