Travel RN – PCU Heart & Vascular (Nights)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 48 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients with cardiac and vascular conditions on a 31-bed Heart & Vascular unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
- Perform nursing assessments every twelve hours (or as ordered) and vital signs every four hours (or as ordered)
- Perform and interpret EKGs, including EKG rhythm recognition and pacemaker interrogation
- Manage arterial sheath removal and monitoring following cardiac catheterization procedures
- Maintain and titrate cardiac drips per physician orders and unit protocols
- Maintain current ACLS certification throughout the duration of the assignment
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Texas (or compact license eligibility)
- ACLS certification required — candidates without this will not be considered
- Minimum 1 year of PCU, stepdown, or IMC nursing experience
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, drip management, and post-procedural care
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Critical care skill set with experience in post-cardiac catheterization (post-cath) patient management
- Experience with arterial sheath removal and hemostasis monitoring
- Familiarity with pacemaker interrogation and advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation
