Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient function through formal and informal testing measures to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status
• Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance, coordinated with physician orders
• Submit and maintain written treatment regimes as part of the plan of care; update as needed to reflect changes in patient status
• Devise frequency- and duration-specific treatment schedules in collaboration with patients, families, caregivers, and clinical support staff
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on their condition, prognosis, and rationale for treatment interventions
• Delegate responsibilities to Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides; co-sign verbal orders received by the Physical Therapist Assistant as necessary

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Physical Therapist License (LARA must reflect Active status)
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
• Outpatient physical therapy experience required
• Current Skills Checklist (within the last year, pertinent to Physical Therapy) required
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in both outpatient and acute care settings
• Familiarity with delegating to and coordinating care with Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides
