Key Responsibilities
- Regularly assesses patient needs and provides skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician-authorized plan of care and accepted standards of nursing practice.
- Provides direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, responding to call lights, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms.
- Evaluates effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborates with the care team to update or revise plans using current clinical information.
- Processes physician and provider orders accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
- Follows up regarding medication changes and order clarifications to ensure continuity of care.
Required Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license (must reflect Active status via LARA and/or Nursys)
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Observation nursing experience
- Skills Checklist current within the past year, pertinent to Observation specialty
- 2 Supervisory Reference Forms completed within the last two years
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Background working with outpatients assigned to observation status
