Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | Expected 40 hours/week | Minimum 12 weeks, starting August/September
Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
- Design functional treatment programs focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay and facilitating effective return to community activities
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients; ensure care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
- Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations as assigned
- Adhere to discipline-specific state practice acts and regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in good standing, valid in the state of North Carolina
- Demonstrated clinical reasoning skills with the ability to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals for an outpatient population
- Proficiency in medical record documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
- Commitment to patient and employee safety standards, including safe patient handling and infection control practices
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
- Experience supervising or mentoring PT students in a clinical environment
- Active involvement in professional development activities, continuing education, or professional organizations
