Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required (Friday & Saturday for nights) | Holiday rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg Tele/PCU unit serving a diverse patient population including surgical (total hip & knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, exploratory lap) and medical (MRSA, C-diff, COPD, pneumonia, COVID, withdrawal, suicide attempt) and telemetry (chest pain) cases
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently; work in conjunction with remote monitor technicians
• Care for stable CPAP and BiPAP patients as needed
• Float as needed to the Multi Care Unit, Pediatric unit (adult MST patients), and West Campus Med Surg Tele
• Participate in standby/low census rotation as applicable per contract terms
• Must be willing to precept nursing students

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (or compact license) in good standing
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg experience
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam (minimum score of 80%) within two attempts prior to contract start
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior telemetry or PCU experience strongly preferred
• Experience caring for both Med Surg and PCU-level patients
• Comfort with precepting nursing students
