Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0700–1930) | Every other weekend required (Saturday & Sunday for day shift) | Holiday rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg Tele/PCU unit serving a diverse patient population including surgical (total hip & knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, exploratory lap) and medical patients (MRSA, C-diff, COPD, pneumonia, COVID, alcohol/drug withdrawal, suicide attempt) as well as telemetry patients presenting with chest pain
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently; Remote Monitor Techs are available on unit
• Care for stable C-PAP and Bi-PAP patients
• Float as needed to the Multi Care Unit, Pediatric unit (adult MST patients), and West Campus Med Surg Tele
• Participate in low-census standby rotation as applicable per contract terms
• Must be willing to precept nursing students

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (or compact eligibility) in the state of Arizona
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg experience
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract start
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates who have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Comfort caring for both Med Surg Tele and PCU-level patients
• Experience precepting nursing students
