Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients, including both low-risk and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) populations
- Support a certified nurse midwife patient population within a low-risk care model
- Expected to cross-train to Mother/Baby unit and may be floated to NICU (feeders/growers) within scope of practice
- Work within a unit averaging approximately 2,000 annual deliveries, utilizing 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
- Adhere to rotating holiday schedule, including every other holiday and every other weekend, with a requirement to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Fetal Monitoring certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Experience in Mother/Baby or NICU (feeder/grower level) settings
- Prior travel nursing experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery environment
