Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct critical care nursing to adult surgical and trauma patients in a fast-paced 15-bed intensive care unit within a Level 1 facility
- Manage complex, high-acuity patient populations requiring specialized surgical and trauma ICU interventions
- Document and coordinate patient care using the Epic electronic health record system
- Float within scope of practice as needed in accordance with facility float policy
- Participate in specialty-specific orientation modules as required during onboarding
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Epic electronic health record experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for select units per facility policy — confirm applicability at submission)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Prior experience in a Surgical or Trauma ICU setting
- Experience working in a Level 1 trauma center environment
