Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 22-bed freestanding emergency department with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform procedures including IV starts, blood draws, moderate sedations, and splinting
• Operate and monitor equipment such as defibrillators, Hamilton Vents, Welch Allyn devices, and bedside cardiac monitors
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR (transitioning from Meditech Magic to Meditech Expanse)
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team across day, mid, and night shifts to ensure continuity of care
• Float to an alternate freestanding emergency department location as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License (must be valid for the state of Texas or compact eligibility)
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI certification required
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department nursing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Experience in a freestanding emergency department or high-acuity ER environment
• Strong teamwork orientation and commitment to patient experience
