Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a flex unit serving both floor (up to 6:1 ratio) and stepdown (up to 3:1 ratio) patients based on census and hospital needs
• Manage a diverse medical patient population with primarily medicine diagnoses
• Titrate drips per physician orders, including heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, and TPN
• Monitor and manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP, HiFlow, and ventilators (stepdown); patients requiring ventilator setting adjustments are transferred to ICU
• Collaborate with Clinical Associates (CAs), charge RNs, and house supervisors to ensure safe, efficient unit operations
• Float as needed to other floor or stepdown units as first priority for floating or pulling

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in West Virginia or compact state eligibility
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Ability to manage a 6-patient med-surg assignment or a 3-patient stepdown assignment
• Willingness to work weekend shifts as this position is posted as a weekend role
• Availability to work approximately half of all recognized facility holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with drip titration including vasoactive and sedation medications
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring equipment
• Experience in a flex or dual-acuity unit environment
