Travel RN – Surgical / Telemetry (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week (must be indicated at time of submission)
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of direct patient care for all age groups, including post-surgical and telemetry patients
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary and interdisciplinary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and maintain professional accountability
- Operate unit equipment including Alaris pumps, telemetry monitoring systems, and lift equipment; document care using EPIC EMR
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines
- Float on a rotational basis as required; orient on day shift prior to transitioning to night shift schedule
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or hold an active Missouri RN license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Must have 4 trauma credits or complete them within the first two weeks of assignment start
- NIHSS certification required prior to start (candidates may be submitted without it but must obtain before beginning)
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
- Demonstrated experience and competence in drug titration
- Flu vaccination or an approved exemption is required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
- Inpatient trauma experience preferred
- Familiarity with specialty surgery patient populations including GI, GU, ENT, and Urology
- Calm demeanor with strong collaboration and communication skills
