Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week (must be indicated at time of submission) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
- Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice and the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
- Perform physical duties including standing and walking for most of the shift, lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs, and pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license — must meet criteria for eligibility for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in the state of Missouri
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA only — required prior to start
- TNCC required
- NIHSS — may be submitted without, but must be obtained prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, or minimum 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility — experience level must be indicated on resume
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with trauma and pediatric emergency patients
- Background in high-volume environments (200+ patients/day) and high-acuity care
- Demonstrated skill in human relations and communication in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Personality traits that align well with this role include being determined, decisive, and flexible
