Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatment sessions, progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring design of functional treatment programs that support return to community activities
- Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs as assigned with appropriate supervision and completion of student evaluations
- Adhere to discipline-specific state practice acts and regulatory agency requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist license in good standing (California)
- Outpatient Physical Therapy experience required
- No new graduates — prior clinical experience is required
- Ability to work 40 hours per week
- Proficiency in medical record documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with functional treatment program design focused on return to community activities
- Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality of care initiatives
- Active involvement in continuing education, professional organizations, or self-directed professional development
