Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for emergency patients across the acuity spectrum
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Float within scope of practice and skillset as needed — travelers are expected to float first
- Participate in holiday coverage as assignments fall within the scheduled rotation
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities
Required Qualifications
- Active Maryland RN License or valid Compact RN License at time of submission
- ACLS required (American Heart Association only)
- BLS required (American Heart Association only)
- PALS required (American Heart Association only)
- CPI certification required — the Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (permanent address) to be eligible — locals under 50 miles are not accepted unless the posting specifically states otherwise
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are accepted
- Comfort with floating to other units within scope of practice and skillset
- Ability to adapt quickly to varying patient volumes and acuity levels
