Key Responsibilities

Provide PCU-level nursing care to a cardiology patient population including open heart, heart failure, post-cath lab, valve, watchman, EP (pacemakers, ablations), LVAD, and advanced heart failure patients
Maintain a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio and collaborate closely with PCTs and free-charge RNs on a 52-bed PCU/6-bed IMC shared unit
Perform and assist with in-unit procedures including cardioversions and radiologist-guided thoracentesis
Document care using Meditech EMR in accordance with PCU standards of care charting requirements
Adhere to unit fall prevention and skin integrity protocols, with CNC rounding each shift to verify precautions
Participate in on-call requirements as assigned; must be available until 4:00 AM or float within the system as needed

Required Qualifications

Active RN license valid in the state of Texas (or compact eligibility)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Cardiology experience required, including open heart, heart failure, post-cath lab, and valve patients
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Preferred Experience / Skills

LVAD experience strongly preferred
Proficiency with Meditech EMR
Experience in a high-acuity cardiology or stepdown/PCU setting
Team-oriented approach with willingness to support PCTs and fellow RNs
