Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) | Expected 36–48 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 17-bed Emergency Department serving primarily adult and geriatric populations, with approximately 40 visits per day
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6 while delivering high-quality, timely emergency nursing care
- Document accurately using the MediTech electronic health record system
- Support daily volume management and participate in call coverage as needed to maintain 24/7 departmental operations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across a regional health center offering ED, Critical Care, Med/Surg, Acute Rehab, OB, Pediatrics, and additional specialty services
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; Iowa licensure or eligibility required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- ACLS certification required
- TNCC certification required
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in an acute care facility
- Must complete Iowa SING background check (criminal and child abuse portions) — no instant or statewide searches accepted; all background checks must be fully cleared prior to start
- Mandatory Reporter certification required (Child and Adult)
- 10-panel drug screening including opiates required
- Titers from the last 12 months required (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB)
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Experience in a similarly sized regional or community emergency department
- Familiarity with MediTech EHR
