Travel RN – Critical Care / ICU (13-Week Contract)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Days | Three 12-Hour Shifts per Week | Rotating Weekends

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care needs for critically ill patients across multiple ICU settings within a float pool model, including Trauma, CVICU, Burn, Neuro Surgical ICU, MICU, CVTU, and CMU units
  • Administer prescribed medications, manage IV drips and titration, perform dressing changes, monitor vital signs, and carry out physician orders
  • Provide respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for critical care patients
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems; serve as the primary coordinator across all care disciplines
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs in collaboration with the healthcare team; instruct and educate patients and families
  • Follow Standard Precautions and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required at all times

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nevada (candidates with a license actively in process and well along in the process may be considered)
  • BLS and ACLS certification required upon hire; NIHSS certification required within 90 days of start
  • Passing score on Critical Care Test and Rhythm Interpretation examination
  • Minimum of 2 years of current acute care hospital critical care experience; no new graduates will be considered
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) accepted if candidate is currently enrolled in a BSN program; BSN preferred
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • CCRN certification preferred
  • BSN degree preferred
  • Experience in ICU step-down units, drip titration, and management of critically ill patients from other acute care settings (e.g., ER candidates with additional critical care experience will be considered)
  • Strong commitment to improving patient outcomes with the ability to multitask, adapt with flexibility, and thrive in high-acuity, fast-paced environments with limited direction at times
