Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as a float nurse, with unit assignments determined by the nursing supervisor based on staffing needs
- Float across a broad range of acute care units including medical, surgical, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, vascular, pulmonary, trauma, and observation
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care with patient ratios that typically average 1:6, varying according to unit need
- Document all patient care activities accurately using Cerner EMR
- Participate in every-other-weekend scheduling as required
- Complete onsite orientation modules as directed by the Nurse Educator
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or a valid compact multi-state RN license — must be in hand at time of submittal
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting
- Prior experience with Cerner EMR is required
- Pending licensure is not accepted
- 2 professional references required (may be pending at time of submittal)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating across multiple acute care specialties or working in a float pool environment
- Familiarity with a wide range of patient populations including medical, surgical, oncology, orthopedic, neurological, and cardiac patients
- First-time travelers will be considered
