Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
• Design functional treatment programs that support effective return to community activities and progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
• Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
• Adhere to discipline-specific state practice acts and regulatory requirements, uphold professional standards, and actively pursue continuing education and professional development

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of California
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience required — new graduates will not be considered
• Ability to perform 60-minute evaluations and treatments
• Knowledge of and adherence to state practice acts and applicable regulatory agency requirements
• Commitment to patient and employee safety practices, including safe patient handling and infection control protocols

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in an outpatient therapy setting
• Familiarity with functional quality indicator assessments and letters of medical necessity documentation
• Active involvement in professional organizations or ongoing continuing education beyond state-mandated requirements
