PCU / Surgical Stepdown – Registered Nurse (Travel)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days & Nights Available | Every Other Weekend Required | Standby Call Only

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a PCU Observation unit, including monitoring and managing patients requiring step-down level care
• Administer and manage IV insulin drips and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Care for stroke-certified unit patients, applying NIH Stroke Scale assessments as required
• Float to inpatient units or cover ED holds within the hospital as needed
• Accurately document patient care and assessments using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke certification required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR
• Experience managing IV insulin drips and high-flow oxygen

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience on a stroke-certified unit
• Comfort with floating to varied inpatient settings, including ED hold environments
• Experience in a PCU, Stepdown, or IMC setting
