Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Days | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00) | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to neonatal patients in an intensive care unit setting
- Adhere to infant-driven feeding protocols, including compliance with Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding certification requirements
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
- Participate in weekend rotation, including 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
- Fulfill holiday coverage requirements, including availability for 2 of 3 winter holidays
- Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as assigned during onboarding
Required Qualifications
- Active or pending Virginia RN license (must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification must be in hand at time of submission
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding certification required (may be submitted as pending)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- References required
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU setting
- Familiarity with infant-driven feeding protocols and neonatal care standards
