Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Night Shift)
Location
Nashua, NH | Free Standing Emergency Department
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | 12-Week Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend expected
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a free-standing Emergency Department managing a diverse patient population including trauma, stroke, DKA, sepsis, and complex cardiac conditions
- Complete protocol-based workups including labs, EKG, x-rays, and medications to initiate patient care; run POC lab testing for all patients
- Collaborate with providers to complete medical screening exams within 10 minutes of patient arrival
- Perform and assist with procedures including laceration repair, U/S IV insertion, IO insertion, EKG, orthopedic trauma care, and psychiatric and cardiopulmonary care
- Operate unit equipment including Alaris pumps, Pyxis, Lucas Device, Rapid Infuser, and ultrasound for IV access; document using Meditech Expanse EMR
- Maintain a patient ratio of 5:1 with flexibility when utilizing the trauma room; float to the main ER if needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in New Hampshire
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required for travel/contract labor
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, MOAB, and TNCC certifications required for contract labor — candidates without these will not be considered
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Demonstrated adaptability, dependability, and punctuality
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong proficiency in EKG interpretation
- Experience working with complex cardiac patients, NEHI-level conditions, or high-acuity trauma populations
- Familiarity with Meditech Expanse or similar EMR platforms
- Experience collaborating with EMS agencies in an emergency care setting
