Registered Nurse – Observation (1S Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a dedicated Observation unit
• Float to other Med-Surg units including Respiratory, Stroke, and Cardiac as needed
• Float to the Emergency Department when appropriately skilled and knowledgeable
• Monitor and interpret telemetry/cardiac rhythms (BCRA); competency will be assessed on day one
• Document accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
• Participate in on-call rotation on a rare, as-needed basis

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Ohio
• Active BLS certification required
• Active ACLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of current, recent Telemetry and/or Med-Surg experience
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret Telemetry/BCRA rhythms
• Current Epic EMR proficiency required — must be independently proficient prior to assignment start; remedial or on-site training is not available

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in an Observation or step-down unit setting
• Familiarity with Emergency Department workflows and protocols
• Experience floating across multiple Med-Surg specialty units
