Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required; weekend coverage may vary based on need
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical unit specializing in Vascular and Urology patient populations, with overflow from General Surgery, Women's Specialty, and Medicine
- Manage a patient assignment of 5–6 non-monitored med-surgical patients with an average length of stay of 1–2 days
- Perform dressing changes and provide care for patients with wound vacs and drains
- Receive patients from PACU, ICU transfers, and the ED; work within a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio on both day and night shifts
- Float to other units and/or campuses as needed based on census, within the scope of demonstrated and documented competencies
- Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials; modules are completed annually and are billable up to 16 hours
Required Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN license required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Must be able to pass an EKG exam as part of pre-start modules
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
- Must live more than 100 miles from all facilities within the health system to be eligible at full rate; candidates residing 90–99.9 miles away may be considered at a reduced rate. For this specialty (Adult Medical Tele / Night Shift), candidates must be at least 50 miles from the contracted campus — those between 50–99.9 miles may be considered at a reduced rate; candidates under 50 miles are not eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with Urology and Vascular patient populations
- Familiarity with wound vac management and post-surgical drain care
- Experience floating across multiple units or service lines in an acute care setting
