Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a focus on orthopedic and bariatric patient populations
• Administer and manage medications using the Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, responding appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Float to other like units or nearby campuses as needed based on census demands; floating will only occur to units for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented
• Complete all required pre-assignment modules and annual compliance requirements within designated timeframes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience with EPIC EMR
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the field; first-time travelers must have a minimum of 3 years of experience within the specialty
• Must reside more than 100 miles from all system facilities to be eligible at full consideration; candidates residing 90–99.9 miles away may be considered under modified terms; candidates under 90 miles are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with orthopedic and/or bariatric patient populations
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Previous travel nursing experience
