Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 4 x 10-hour shifts per week, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM | Note: During the first week, travelers should plan on working Monday–Friday on 5 x 8-hour shifts to accommodate the onboarding schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat adult acute care patients across a general medical, neurologic, orthopedic, cardiac, and oncology caseload (8–10 patients per day)
- Provide discharge recommendations and coordinate safe mobility and functional plans with the interdisciplinary team
- Cover all acute care adult populations; travelers with strong prior ICU experience may be asked to cover the ICU as needed
- Document patient care and treatment plans using EPIC EMR
- Participate in an onboarding period of at least 2 days alongside an experienced staff OT preceptor
- Fulfill weekend rotation expectations of approximately 40% of weekend days, typically every other full weekend
Required Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapist state license (Idaho or compact eligibility)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience as a licensed OT (acute rehab experience alone may not be considered equivalent)
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience treating neurologic diagnoses including CVA, MS, Parkinson's disease, and Guillain-Barré syndrome
- Experience with orthopedic populations including total joints and fractures
- Prior ICU experience for travelers interested in covering that unit
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
