Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 37-bed Medical Surgical unit serving stroke, spine, neuro trauma, and general med/surg patient populations
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5/6 on night shifts
• Monitor and manage patients on set-rate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
• Demonstrate competency in reading telemetry strips using Phillips Telemetry monitors (centrally monitored off the unit)
• Self-schedule and participate in block scheduling, including a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Float to other units and participate in on-call or standby as determined by department needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience
• Competency in telemetry strip reading
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
• Must be available and present in state during the week of orientation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for stroke, spine, or neuro trauma patient populations
• Familiarity with Phillips Telemetry monitoring systems
• Experience in self-scheduling and block scheduling environments
