RN – Emergency Room / Med-Surg (Critical Access)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (shift report at 6:45 PM) | Rotating weekends required | Block scheduling may be accommodated

Key Responsibilities

• Provide total patient care across both Emergency Room and Med-Surg settings within a critical access facility
• Maintain a 1:3 patient ratio while delivering hands-on, comprehensive nursing care
• Perform IV insertion and management, EKG interpretation, medication administration, and glucose monitoring
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as part of a total patient care model
• Chart accurately using CPSI electronic health records system
• Participate in a rotating weekend schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Texas (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in Emergency Room and/or Med-Surg
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• TNCC certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a critical access hospital environment
• Familiarity with CPSI charting system
• Candidates with a camper or 5th wheel are strongly encouraged to apply, as housing options in the area are very limited
