Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Sunday–Saturday based on facility needs | Weekend availability required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency room and urgent care environment
- Transition between an acute care facility and a free-standing emergency and urgent care facility as operationally required during the assignment
- Accurately document all patient care activities using Epic EMR
- Respond to a broad range of emergency presentations, applying clinical judgment and evidence-based practice
- Participate in weekend shifts and adapt to scheduling needs based on facility census and staffing requirements
- Be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (SC license must be active prior to start date)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required — all must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Epic EMR experience required
- First-time travelers accepted provided they have verified emergency room experience
- Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- Experience working in a free-standing or high-volume emergency and urgent care setting
