Job Title
Travel RN – Medical/Surgical (Post-Op Med/Surg, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 3 x 12-hour shifts per week | Expected 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule | Projected Start: November 2, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver attentive and compassionate patient-centered care on a 34-bed Post-Op Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
- Conduct bedside shift reports and actively include patients and family members in plan-of-care discussions
- Perform IV starts, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
- Operate and monitor unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse ox machines, PCA, feeding pumps, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and SCDs
- Document accurately using the Meditech electronic health record system
- Float as needed per unit policy; contract labor is first to float on a rotation basis when multiple contract staff are scheduled
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be valid and in good standing)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
- Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Compliance with facility dress code: navy scrub tops and bottoms required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Post-Op or surgical Med/Surg setting
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and management of chest tubes or surgical drains
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build rapport with patients and families
