Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM–5:00 PM with rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services within an inpatient rehabilitation unit, including evaluation and treatment of stroke and neurological patients
- Perform manual therapy for neuro re-education, therapeutic exercise, functional activity, neuromuscular re-education, self-care, and functional electrical stimulation
- Maintain a patient ratio of 4:1 within a 44-bed rehab unit staffed by OT/PT teams, speech therapists, and support technicians
- Utilize Meditech Expanse for clinical documentation
- Operate specialized equipment including Sara Lifts, ceiling lifts, Bioness, and Diego systems
- Apply AIDET communication standards and immediate service recovery practices to support patient experience; may float to acute hospital setting if rehab census is low
Required Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapist licensure in Virginia (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
- Experience in inpatient rehabilitation, including stroke evaluation and treatment
- Proficiency with standard rehabilitation equipment and electronic documentation systems
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Joint Commission Stroke Certified facility
- Familiarity with Meditech Expanse documentation platform
- Experience with neuromuscular re-education and functional electrical stimulation techniques
